Here, you’ll discover the secrets behind the creation of the eight Harry Potter films, exploring the awe-inspiring sets, iconic costumes, and magical objects that made the saga so unforgettable. You can walk along the streets of Diagon Alley, visit the Great Hall of Hogwarts, and marvel at the magic of the special effects that brought creatures like Dobby and the Basilisk to life.

After leaving the mysteries of the studio behind, the tour will take you to the picturesque countryside of Oxfordshire. Here, you can visit Christ Church College, which inspired the creation of the Great Hall at Hogwarts in the films. Itinerary

Platform 9 ¾ :
Day 1

Arrive in London and transfer to your hotel to check in. Start your adventure with a Harry Potter themed walking tour of London.

Warner Bros. Studio :
Day 2

Today, spend a full day at the Warner Bros’ Studio Tour north of London. The award-winning tour gives you access to spectacular sets from the Harry Potter movies and a behind the scenes look at their production. During the tour, visitors have the opportunity to explore the actual sets used in the films, including the Great Hall of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Platform 9¾. You can marvel at the intricate details of the sets, admire the authentic costumes worn by the beloved characters, and discover the countless props and magical artifacts that played a role in the movies.

The Great Hall :
Day 3

Depart London. Travel to Oxford to join a Harry Potter themed walking tour. You will see many of the locations used in the Harry Potter films, and you can choose to visit one of the locations connected to the films: Christ Church College, Bodleian Library. Continue to the village of Lacock, a major filming location. The Abbey was used for several Hogwarts scenes. Continue to the Gloucester area for your next overnight stay.

Malfoy Manor :
Day 4

Drive into central Gloucester to visit the imposing cathedral. After your visit, continue north to Yorkshire, perhaps stopping to visit Hardwick Hall along the way, the main setting for Malfoy Manor.

The Hardwick Hall Harry Potter Deathly Hallows filming location only featured in one movie and that was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 filmed in 2010.

They only ever filmed the outside of Hardwick Hall as Malfoy Manor here. But, the interiors of the house heavily inspired the sets which were built for the movie.

The team came in and measured the rooms inside to create similar looking replicas for a film studio.If you watch the film again, you’ll definitely recognise features of Hardwick Hall Great Hall in all of the interior scenes at Malfoy Manor. But, it’s not the exact same room. Overnight: York area

Hogsmeade Station :
Day 5

Park your car in Goathland and take a train ride to Whitby on the North Yorks Moors Railway: Goathland station acts as Hogsmeade Station. In the seaside town of Whitby, enjoy some fish & chips, before taking the train back to Goathland and returning to York. Enjoy some free time in York to explore the historic city. Perhaps join a ghost walk of the city in the evening. Overnight: York area

Hogwarts :
Day 6

Depart Yorkshire and travel towards Scotland. Before you reach the border, stop in Durham to visit the cathedral: used to shoot various exterior and interior shots of Hogwarts. A little bit further north, visit Alnwick Castle where if you wish, you can have a Quidditch lesson! Continue to your hotel in Edinburgh. Overnight: Edinburgh area

Day 7

Follow in the footsteps of JK Rowling as you explore the city which inspired her novels on a walking tour, a must for any Harry Potter fans. Explore the magical world that Harry and his friends found themselves in. The afternoon is free to explore the city. Overnight: Edinburgh area
